Family Link's easy-to-use tools let you understand how your child is using their device, see their location, manage privacy settings, and more.

What you can do with Family Link:

Define rules for the digital environment

• Limit screen time: you can set breaks on your device and apps to help your child maintain a balanced routine.

• Offer age-appropriate contentrummy yes: approve or block the apps your child wants to use. In Family Link, you can also choose whether your child will use the YouTube supervised experience or YouTube Kids.

Manage and protect your child's account

• Protect your child's privacy: With permissions management in Family Link, you can make important choices about your child's data. View and manage permissions for websites and extensions accessed in Chrome, as well as apps installed on your child's device.

• Protect your child's account: In Family Link, you can manage your child's data and account settings. As a family member, you can change or reset your child's password, edit their personal information, or even delete their account if necessary.

Maintain a connection anywhere

• View location: useful for finding where your child is. With Family Link, you can locate people on a map when they have your device.

• Receive notifications and alerts: Family Link sends important notifications, such as when your child arrives or leaves a certain location. You can also call devices and see battery life.

• Family Link features vary depending on your child's device. See a list of compatible devices at https://families.google/familylink/device-compatibility/

• Although Family Link helps you manage your child's Google Play purchases and downloads, your approval is not required to install app updates (even those that expand permissions), already approved apps, and apps shared in Family Library. Additionally, purchase approvals are only applied when your child makes a purchase through the Google Play billing system, not alternative systems. Families need to regularly check their child's apps and permissions in Family Link.

• Check the apps on the supervised device and disable the ones you don't want your child to use. You may not be able to disable some pre-installed apps like Google Play, Google etc.

• To know where your child's device is, it needs to be charged, active, and connected to the Internet via data or Wi-Fi.

• Family Link family controls are only available on supervised Google Accounts. With a supervised Google Account, kids have access to Google products like Search, Chrome, and Gmail. The family can also set up digital ground rules for supervision.

• Family Link provides features for you to manage your child's online experience, but does not make the Internet safe. Family Link doesn't determine content on the Internet, but you can use the app to determine how your child uses their device and decide how to protect your family online.
